How Grailed Fees Work in 2026
Grailed charges sellers two separate fees on every sale. The first is the seller commission, which became tiered on May 20, 2026: sales under $120 pay 6% (with a $1.99 minimum), and sales of $120 or more pay 9%. The second is payment processing at 3.49% + $0.49 per domestic transaction. Both are deducted before your payout, so a $100 sale actually lands $90.02 in your account, not $100.
The tier is decided by the final sale price - including buyer-paid shipping if you don't use a Grailed label - which creates a genuine cliff at $120. One dollar of price difference can swing your commission rate by 50% (6% to 9%), which is why understanding the threshold is worth real money to menswear sellers.
Grailed Fee Rates 2026
| Sale price | Commission | Processing | Total fees | You keep |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $33 | $1.99 (minimum) | $1.64 | $3.63 (11.0%) | $29.37 |
| $50 | $3.00 (6%) | $2.24 | $5.24 (10.5%) | $44.77 |
| $119 | $7.14 (6%) | $4.64 | $11.78 (9.9%) | $107.22 |
| $120 | $10.80 (9%) | $4.68 | $15.48 (12.9%) | $104.52 |
| $300 | $27.00 (9%) | $10.96 | $37.96 (12.7%) | $262.04 |
Commission tiers effective May 20, 2026. Payment processing shown at the domestic rate of 3.49% + $0.49; international sales and sellers who haven't completed payment onboarding can pay more. Rates verified July 29, 2026.
The $120 Threshold: Why $119 Beats $123
Because the commission jumps from 6% to 9% at exactly $120, pricing just below the threshold can genuinely net you more than pricing above it. A $119 sale nets $107.22. A $120 sale - one dollar more - nets only $104.52. That extra dollar of price costs you $2.70 of payout.
The break-even point is about $123.10: any sale price between $120.00 and $123.09 nets less than simply pricing at $119. So if your item's realistic market value sits in that dead zone, list at $119 (or accept the $115-119 offer) and keep the difference. Above ~$124, the higher price wins again and you should charge what the item is worth.
Watch the shipping interaction too: if the buyer pays shipping outside a Grailed label, it counts toward the price that determines your tier. A $110 item with $15 buyer-paid shipping is a $125 transaction - 9% tier - while the same item with free shipping baked into a $119 price stays at 6%.
How to Reduce Your Grailed Fees
- Price around the $120 cliff. In the $120-123 dead zone, dropping to $119 increases your payout. Use offers strategically - accepting $115 on a $140 listing moves the whole sale to the 6% tier.
- Mind the $1.99 minimum on cheap items. Below about $33, the flat minimum pushes your effective commission above 6%. Bundling two $25 items into one $50 sale pays $5.24 in fees instead of $6.71 as two separate sales.
- One transaction beats two. Every sale pays its own $0.49 processing fixed fee, so combined orders always save money.
- The commission itself is non-negotiable. There's no store subscription or volume discount on Grailed - the only levers are price positioning, bundling, and choosing the right platform per item.
How to Calculate Your Grailed Profit
Fees are only half the story - profit is what's left after fees, shipping, and what you paid for the item. Worked example for a Rick Owens tee:
- Sale price: $150.00 (9% tier)
- Commission: −$13.50 · Processing: −$5.73 → payout $130.78
- Shipping label: −$10.00 · Cost basis: −$60.00
- Net profit: $60.78 - a 40.5% margin and 86.8% ROI on the $70 you invested

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does Grailed charge in fees?
Since May 20, 2026, Grailed's seller commission is tiered: 6% on sales under $120 (with a $1.99 minimum) and 9% on sales of $120 or more. On top of that, payment processing is 3.49% + $0.49 per transaction for domestic sales. In practice that means total fees of roughly 9.5% + $0.49 on a sub-$120 sale and roughly 12.5% + $0.49 at $120 or above. A $100 hoodie costs you $9.98 in total fees, while a $150 jacket costs $19.23 - the tier jump matters, which is why our calculator applies the correct rate automatically based on your sale price.
How are Grailed fees calculated?
When you sell an item on Grailed, two separate fees come out of the sale. First, Grailed takes its commission: 6% if the sale price is under $120 (with a $1.99 minimum), or 9% at $120 or more. Second, payment processing takes 3.49% + $0.49 for domestic sales. For a $100 sale you'd pay $6.00 commission + $3.98 processing = $9.98 total, keeping $90.02. For a $150 sale you'd pay $13.50 + $5.73 = $19.23, keeping $130.78. Both fees are calculated from the sale price, so higher-priced items pay more in absolute terms even though the percentage stays fixed within each tier.
How does Grailed's $1.99 minimum commission work?
On the 6% tier, Grailed charges at least $1.99 in commission no matter how cheap the item is. The math: 6% only reaches $1.99 at a sale price of about $33.17, so anything below ~$33 pays the flat $1.99 instead of 6%. On a $33 tee, that's $1.99 commission + $1.64 processing = $3.63 in fees - an effective rate of 11%, noticeably higher than the 10.5% you'd pay on a $50 item. The cheaper the item, the harder the minimum bites, which is one reason very low-priced items are tough to profit on.
Does Grailed charge fees on shipping?
The commission rate is determined by the sale price, and if you don't use a Grailed shipping label, buyer-paid shipping counts toward it. Payment processing fees apply to the total transaction amount including shipping. That means charging $15 shipping on a $110 item can push the commission calculation to $125 - crossing the $120 threshold and moving your whole sale from the 6% tier to the 9% tier. If you're near the threshold, offering free shipping and pricing the item itself under $120 can genuinely change which tier you pay.
Do accepted offers change the fee?
The commission is calculated on the final accepted price, not your original listing price. If you list a jacket at $140 but accept a $115 offer, the sale lands in the 6% tier: $6.90 commission + $4.50 processing instead of the 9% you'd have paid at $140. This makes the offer system a real fee lever - accepting an offer that drops you below $120 costs you less in fees per dollar, partially offsetting the discount you gave the buyer.
How do I calculate profit on Grailed sales?
Subtract Grailed's tiered commission (6% under $120, 9% at $120+), payment processing of 3.49% + $0.49, your shipping label cost if you're covering shipping, and your cost basis from the sale price. For example: a $150 jacket you bought for $60 pays $19.23 in fees, and after a $10 shipping label your net profit is $60.78 - a 40.5% margin and 86.8% ROI on your $70 total outlay. Our calculator above does the fee math automatically; enter your cost price to see profit, margin, and ROI.
How do Grailed fees compare with eBay for a $150 item?
For a $150 clothing sale: Grailed charges $13.50 commission (9%) + $5.73 processing = $19.23 total. eBay's most-categories rate is 13.6% plus a $0.40 per-order fee, which on $150 works out to $20.40 + $0.40 = $20.80. So at $150, Grailed is slightly cheaper - and below $120 the gap widens dramatically because Grailed's 6% tier kicks in while eBay stays at 13.6%. eBay's advantage is a much larger buyer pool; Grailed's is a menswear-focused audience that knows what your pieces are worth. Compare exact numbers with our eBay fee calculator.
Is Grailed or Depop cheaper for selling clothes?
For US sellers, Depop is cheaper on pure fees: Depop charges no selling fee for US sellers, just 3.3% + $0.45 payment processing - so a $100 sale costs $3.75 on Depop versus $9.98 on Grailed. But fees aren't the whole story: Grailed's audience is specifically menswear, streetwear, and archive fashion, and often supports higher sale prices for those niches than Depop's broader, younger marketplace. Many sellers cross-list on both and let the sale decide. Run the same item through our Depop fee calculator to compare exact payouts.
When does Grailed pay out after a sale?
Grailed processes seller payouts through its payment provider after the sale completes. Exact timing depends on your payout method and account status, and can take several business days - check Grailed's help center for the current payout schedule for your region. For profit tracking purposes, the important number is your net proceeds after the commission and processing fees, which is what our calculator shows.
Is Grailed worth the fees?
Grailed specializes in menswear and streetwear with a curated audience. Total fees run roughly 9.5-12.5% + $0.49 depending on your price tier, and the platform attracts serious buyers willing to pay fair prices for quality items. For hyped or archive pieces, the higher realized sale price on Grailed often outweighs a lower-fee platform where the same item sits unsold or sells for less. The math that matters is net payout, not fee percentage - a 12.5% fee on a $300 sale beats a 4% fee on a $200 sale every time.
Is Grailed cheaper than StockX for sneakers?
Usually yes on fees, but it depends on your StockX level. A $200 sneaker sale on Grailed costs $25.47 in total fees (9% commission + processing), netting $174.53. On StockX, a Level 1 seller pays $18 transaction fee + $6 processing + $5 shipping = $29, netting $171; a Level 5 seller pays $25, netting $175 - essentially a tie with Grailed. StockX adds authentication and bid liquidity, which matters for hyped pairs. Run your exact numbers through our StockX fee calculator to compare.
How can I track all my Grailed profits?
For sellers managing multiple items, ResellAIO automatically calculates Grailed's tiered commission and processing fees on every sale you record, tracks your inventory and cost basis, and shows real profit margins across all your platforms - Grailed, eBay, Depop, and StockX - in one dashboard. That means no more spreadsheet formulas that silently use the wrong tier, and no more discovering at tax time that half your 'profits' were actually fees.
